Wicked Problems

Main Content

Wicked problems are issues that do not have a clear or obvious solution. Invasive species are an example of a wicked problem because the means to control them involve a wide range of factors. It is important to consider how socially, economically, and technologically feasible our these options are. While something may be feasible in one way, it may be highly unfeasible in another. For example, a solution might be technologically feasible but not economically feasible because it is too expensive.

Review the following terminology and complete the activities to develop a better understanding of feasibility in solving a wicked problem.
