What makes a good leader? Why are these qualities important? How are these qualities presented in the media to convince the public that someone is a good leader?  

Your Task: evaluate examples of how candidate Lincoln was presented as a leader to the general public and compare these techniques to how more recent presidential candidates have been portrayed in commercials. How many of these qualities historian Thomas A. Horrick identifies in his SIU Press book are still valued today?
