What are Asian Carp?
Four species of fish, known as Asian carp (or Copi), have become a major concern for states along the Mississippi River. Originally brought to the U.S. to improve water quality in lakes and ponds, these fish have caused several problems for native species.
The goal for this module is to examine their physical characteristics, threats they pose, where they are found in U.S. rivers, and their position of depth in the water column, to correctly identify these fish and the challenges they create. To accomplish this goal, complete the four activities below to help you correctly identify the fish presented in the three case studies.
