The 1995 Chicago Heat Wave
Assign students to four different groups to explore a range of sources related to the 1995 Chicago Heat Wave with this online module. Each group can print multiple-choice questions and a graphic organizer to help them analyze and corroborate varying perspectives about the heat wave.
In this module, each source includes a variety of supports for students with various learning needs. Students can use screen readers for full texts, read excerpted versions, and access online dictionaries (see example). Political cartoons also include an option for highlights of critical features to support students’ analysis (see example).
